Starting April With A Blast

Here’s my first entry for the month of April. And there’s no better way to start this than by being grateful for the overflowing blessings I’ve received on my birthday – gifts both tangible and intangible, friendships both old and new, and this very life that God has breathe unto me, designing it in His great perfection and being molded through His unceasing love, only and all for His glory.
I owe this life from my family. From my parents - for teaching me the value of education, hard work and perseverance – that I can achieve all things if I give my best and if I study hard. Thank you for never once losing your faith and trust in me – from the day I decided to do things on my own and the day I left home for college. To my siblings - for being my motivation and for being the kind and sweet brothers and sister that you all are. I can’t wait to celebrate my birthday with all of you again.

Had an early b-day celebration with my brother, Erick and Mamang at Gumbo's. :) We had a sumptuous lunch and had so much fun.
At work, my wonderful teammates gifted me with this cake, this wonderful & sweet birthday card and this inspiring book. I’m so glad that I am part of the “Team –Steve-Slash-PG” because of the unending laughter that we always share and most especially, the numerous feasts we’ve all enjoyed and will enjoy in all our future “kainan”.
We had Amber Spaghetti and Chicken a day before my birthday. I got a cake, made a wish and blew my candle. :)
My birthday has been made more special with the presence of my new found friends in Mukha-Ad. I thank Albert and Cam for cooking up a “surprise kiddie birthday bash” for me and Ate Chelle. It takes such thoughtful hearts to be able to go out of your way just to make us happy on our special day (although we celebrated a day in advance for me and a couple of days in advance for Ate Chelle). May God reward you with so much more.

Had popcorn and large ice tea while watching the movie Limitless with Cam, Albert and Ate Chelle. And had fries & hotshots at KFC. Special thanks to the ever friendly KFC crew who took some of our pictures. (more pictures here)
Then came April 1st! I prepared a simple dinner for my housemates, my younger brother, and my friend, Gideon. I cooked carbonara and made some mango float and coffee-choco-chip ice cream cake. There was chicken and bread too. It was a very simple birthday meal for everyone and thanks to Manny and Eych for buying a cake for me, and gaze for buying another cake to which we put sparkle candles so I can make a wish! And Gideon came with one more cake! It was a literal overflow of blessings.

We drank some rice wine (I actually just had drops ^^) and had so much more shared laughter than liquor. We had a few pictures here and there and we called it a night. The clock struck midnight, and April 1 was officially over.
I am 23 and as much as aging makes me worry at times, it allows me to move forward, gather wisdom and believe that there are greater things and exciting stuff ahead. Thank you so much to everyone who sent their greetings through text, facebook, email and even twitter. To my highschool and college classmates, my teachers and professors, college org.mates, Mukha-Ad family, my caring group peers, officemates, schoolmates (MHSST and UP) and to random people who have made me so happy on my 23rd birthday. Till the next April 1st!
