Are Your Dreams God's Dreams?

Yesterday, I was reading Bro. Bo's e-book "How To Know If Your Dreams Are God's Dreams", but I had to stop midway. Why? Because I needed to write down my own dreams. From there, I continued reading the book and discerned if they were "soul dreams" - rooted from the deepest desire of my heart.

I guess I live and breathe for these reasons...

  • For My Family to be Reunited. My parents separated five years ago and my life hasn’t been the same since then. I cry whenever I think about not having a place to call “home”. I’m sad at the thought that my father is living alone and my mother has to start a new life – supporting us, her children, by herself most of the time. Our family was not perfect, but we had been happy. And I miss that kind of happiness. I still believe that one day, my family will be whole again.
  • To have my own happy family. I want to marry an awesome man. Someone who will consider our family, next to God, as the center of his life. I want to be a mother to two lovely children.
  • I want to be rich so I can bless others more. I want to get a job promotion; hold higher office so I can influence others more in a good way. I want to have my own business – a passive source of income. I want to invest in the stock market for my retirement.
  • I want my loved ones to live a comfortable life especially my parents and grandparents. They have worked so hard and I believe they deserve all the comforts in the world. They have to harvest the fruits of their labor. I want them to know and feel that their sacrifices never went in vain.
  • I want to make a difference in the lives of people I meet, thus, I want to help poor children achieve their dreams. My mother and I would like to help less fortunate children go to school and fulfill their ambitions in life. When I was studying, my grandmother helped my parents pay for my tuition and a few other generous people have helped me make it through. If it were not for their selfless and generous hearts, I wouldn’t be where I am now. I want to give back the blessing to others. Inspire them in my own little way.
  • I dream of seeing myself as a successful person in every aspect. I wish the same for my brothers and my sister. And I will constantly pray for them.

My Kuya Eagle wants to be a pilot someday. It takes a lot of money to afford enrolling in a flying school so he has to work hard first. Currently, he’s already a licensed aeronautical engineer. He passed the board exam (top 8) last year.

My brother, Erick, wants to be a priest. It is his earnest desire to serve the Lord with all that he’s got. Right now, he is a third year Philosophy student and a simply processed Dominican brother.

My brother, Carlo, is taking up Environmental Science. Although he doesn’t have concrete dreams yet when I asked him once, I pray that he’ll be able to achieve whatever it is that he dreams of becoming. I will support him all the way.

My sister, Jhoanna, dreams of becoming a doctor someday and putting up her own hospital for the poor. Right now, she’s on her third year in High School. It is her immediate concern to pass the admission test in UP, a stepping stone towards fulfilling her greatest dream.

  • As for me, I’m pretty much unsure where to go and what to do next. Now, I’m contemplating about studying law and becoming a lawyer in five years time. Or, should I settle for a less complicated life?

Ultimately, I want to serve the Lord with ALL of me. And through my own little ways contribute in making this world a better place to live in.

What are your dreams? Write them down.

it can achieve.”
